This year, Vacation Bible School is gonna ROCK!

July 11-15, 6:00-8:30 p.m.

Ages 3 (potty trained) through students finishing 5th grade are welcome

A big THANK YOU to all who helped with Harrisburg Days! At the community service, over $2,000 was collected to benefit the Schroeder family. Praise God that the Harrisburg community pulled together to be a blessing to this family in their time of need.

In our recent survey, several members indicated a desire to do more to connect with Harrisburg, and we have several opportunities to do that next weekend (June 12-13) during Harrisburg Days! The Connection will have a booth on Saturday from 9am – 5pm, and we’re helping to staff the Kids Carnival from noon – 4pm. We’re looking for a few more people for each event. We’re also co-hosting the Community Church Service on Sunday morning at the Middle School gym – be ready to welcome your neighbors! Please consider helping with one/all of these events, just visit the Harrisburg Days website or call the office to volunteer!

Harrisburg Clean-up Day: May 26

Wednesday, May 26, is clean-up day! The Connection will help the Harrisburg community get ready for Harrisburg Days by picking up litter in the city’s parks & roadsides. Meet at the Middle School at 6pm, and we will divide up from there. We’ll meet back at the office at 8pm for ice cream! Child care will be available at Tiger Tots for those under 5. Hope to see you then!

Progressive Supper

When: Sunday, May 2 at 5:00 PM

We are doing a Cinco de Mayo/mexican fiesta theme! We will be meeting at the office and there will be child care available there. We will have two groups and plan to car pool (so if you have a van or bigger vehicle and willing to drive let me know). The first group should be ready to leave from the office by 4:40pm so that we can be at house number one by 5:00pm. We will have an hour between groups so the second group should be ready to leave the office by 5:40pm.
Stop #1 Galen and April Van Otterloo’s house for appetizers
Stop #2 Russ and Haley Vander Pol’s house for the main dish
Stop #3 Duane and Rhonda Niewenhuis for dessert

There will be an activity at the Niewenhuis’s also so you can plan to hang out longer and we will all end up there together at the end of the night. See you there!

Good Friday worship

The Crossing has invited us to participate in a unique worship opportunity: on Good Friday (April 2) from 7-9pm at First Reformed Church (57th & Tomar), you can walk through Twelve Stations of the Cross—twelve points that commemorate events on the day of Christ’s crucifixion, with an opportunity to meditate and pray at each station. Walking through takes 20-30 minutes, so come any time before 9pm.

Cupcakes & Coffee for Camp!

The Force 4:12 (middle school) youth group is holding its annual fundraiser for Power Connection in St. Paul. This weekend event allows area youths to get together and experience what it means to be a Christian. The fundraiser has two parts: a free will offering for cupcakes made by the youth and their families - cupcakes will be available after the fellowship lunch on March 14. The second part of the fundraiser will be proceeds from the sale of Jungle Beans Coffee - order forms will be available on March 14, too. Jungle Beans Coffee is a wholesale and speciality coffee roasting company located out on North Industrial Ave in Sioux Falls. They partner with schools, churches, and other organizations for fundraising, returning 50% profit to the organization.
